We met in 2003 and initially bonded over travel, USC football, our faith, and being adoptees. Over time, we found that we shared the same values of family, hard work, education and respect for others. We especially loved being around children! We married the following year in a ceremony and reception that beautifully incorporated elements of Lena's Filipino heritage into it.
We enjoy weekend day trips to San Francisco, wine country, and the California coast; college football games; dining at our favorite restaurants or cooking for friends at home. Sean is big into sports, Lena enjoys the arts. We belong to a Catholic church which has many family-oriented events and programs that promote education, community and helping others less fortunate.
Our daughter Carina’s adoption has brought tremendous joy to our lives, and has been completely embraced by all of our extended family. Sean’s 8-year-old daughter, Claire, from his previous brief marriage, lives with us part-time. She adores her little sister! Our activities are now much more child-centered, and parenthood has been an amazing experience.
