We met in 2003 and initially bonded over travel, USC football, our faith, and being adoptees. Over time, we found that we shared the same values of family, hard work, education and respect for others. We especially loved being around children! We married the following year in a ceremony and reception that beautifully incorporated elements of Lena's Filipino heritage into it.

We enjoy weekend day trips to San Francisco, wine country, and the California coast; college football games; dining at our favorite restaurants or cooking for friends at home. Sean is big into sports, Lena enjoys the arts. We belong to a Catholic church which has many family-oriented events and programs that promote education, community and helping others less fortunate.

Sean’s daughter, Claire, from a previous, brief marriage, lives with us part-time. We often go to the Oakland Zoo where we have a membership, play at the beach and read lots of books together. Claire is very excited at the prospect of becoming a big sister!
