I was raised in Dubuque, Iowa, and have sisters 16 years older who are twins. My parents had to wait 16 years to adopt a boy! I grew up with a group of 12 neighborhood boys, always together playing sports and riding our motocross bikes. I still feel that I'm basically a kid at heart, and really have fun when I'm around children.

I consider myself outgoing and spontaneous. I've always enjoyed meeting and talking to people, trying to make them laugh. I seek out new experiences and places, and have actually been to all 50 states! Hands down, my favorite place is Hawaii.

For years I played the drums, first in a drum corps, and later in the University of Iowa Marching Band. I graduated from there with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business/Accounting, as well as an MBA. I then moved to California, working at various accounting firms before starting my own practice as a Certified Public Accountant. I love being able to set my schedule to better balance family and work time.

But the most important thing to know about me is that there is nothing I love more than being a Dad! Since I don't get to see Claire every day, I treasure every visit, making sure that we always have some fun and laughter, some learning, and lots of affection!
